In South Sudan, Malteser International is running comprehensive TB/HIV, Leprosy and Sleeping Sickness Control Programs in close cooperation with local partners (Diocese, Ministry of Health). Patients are diagnosed and treated at Hospital level run by Malteser as well as in the Primary Health Care Centres at the community level. A strong focus is laid on building the capacity of local health staff as well as in improving the knowledge of the people living in the communities. Malteser International is implementing its health programs in Yei, Rumbek and Maridi and has a coordination office in Juba. In support of our work in SOUTH SUDAN Malteser International is looking for a Medical Coordinator. The Medical Coordinator South Sudan is holding a key position for coordination, training and supervision of all Malteser International health programs in South Sudan. He/she will bring along advanced specific knowledge and expertise and will be technically responsible for TB-HIV, Leprosy, and Sleeping Sickness control. | Key Responsibilities: |
Coordinate and manage the overall planning, direction and coherent strategy of Maltesers health activities at South Sudan level based on consultations with programme teams and South Sudan Coordinator Supervise, provide technical and managerial support and guidance to field sites and line managers ensuring programme quality according to internationally recognized standards and guidelines, national health policies and donor requirements Establish and maintain mechanisms/tools and capacities for appropriate planning, monitoring and evaluation of activities and ensure that they are available and used on programme level Represent Malteser International vis-a-vis national authorities, national and international institutions, organisations and donors in cooperation with the South Sudan Coordinator |

Medical Background with MPH or equivalent degree Experience and ability in planning, implementing and managing comprehensive health programmes Working experience in the field of Communicable Diseases (e.g. TB, HIV/AIDS) Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively motivate people and to diplomatically manage the relationship with local partners, different authorities and donors Physical and mental strength, team working and calm under pressure Fluency in English (written and spoken); Proficiency in using standard software packages |
