The Project Health Manager for Malteser health projects is responsible for the overall coordination, planning and implementation of all medical related activities at the projects location. He/she will fulfil his/her duties in close cooperation with the Program Coordinator on location. Tasks/Conditions:

Malteser International has been operational in South Sudan within the health sector since 1998.

In South Sudan, Malteser International is running comprehensive TB/HIV, Leprosy and Sleeping Sickness Control Programs in close cooperation with local partners (Diocese, Ministry of Health). Patients are diagnosed and treated at Hospital level run by Malteser as well as in the Primary Health Care Centres at the community level. A strong focus is laid on building the capacity of local health staff as well as in improving the knowledge of the people living in the communities. Malteser International is implementing its health programs in Yei, Rumbek and Maridi and has a coordination office in Juba.

In support of our work in Rumbek, South Sudan Malteser International is looking for a Project Health Manager (f/m).

The Project Health Manager for Malteser health projects is responsible for the overall coordination, planning and implementation of all medical related activities at the projects location. He/she will fulfil his/her duties in close cooperation with the Program Coordinator on location. He/she is responsible for the entire health project on location including planning, day-to-day implementation and monitoring of all health activities at the Malteser project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that all programme activities on secondary level are performed

Plan and supervise all outreach activities

Plan and participate in IEC/Health Education activities on TB/HIV and Leprosy

Responsible for regular data collection from all PHCCs and hospital

Conduct on the job training and CME for hospital & PHCC staff

Supervision of staff (e.g. outreach team, hospital staff)

Requirements:

Health professional with a medical background and public health experience

Experience in management of disease control or other medical programmes (supervision and allocation of staff, report writing, data collection and analysis, work plan designing conducting needs assessment, medical logistics)

Experience in TB-HIV and Leprosy control specific and/or other control programmes of communicable and endemic diseases

Ability to work with limited resources and under difficult circumstances

Fluent in English and Computer literacy is compulsory.

Duration of contract: 12 months (extendable)
